Dr. Rafael David Prim was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where he developed a passion for animals at a younger age and rescued several stray cats and dogs. During his teenage years, his family owned a farm where he also learned to care for horses and other large animals. Dr. Prim gained his bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences from Bayamón Central University and moved to Orlando after his undergrad studies where he started working as a kennel technician and later become a surgical assistant. Dr. Prim gained his doctorate degree from Ross University and did a small animal rotating internship at a referral and emergency center. He is passionate about preventive care, nutrition, and internal medicine. During his free time, he enjoys exercising, going to the beach, having dinner with friends, and spending time at home with his family and his 2 Chihuahuas Wilma and Pebbles.
